TV for the Second Screen Generation Realisation of the social TV channel joiz in Berlin

Offering maximum viewer interactivity is what joiz considers its central philosophy. This approach also serves as a basis for the social TV channel’s day-to-day work and is realised through an intelligent linking of classic TV, mobile internet and social networks. For the technical implementation of its transmedial infrastructure joiz commissioned Qvest Media.

We developed a scalable and extensible broadcasting infrastructure in Berlin that has the capacity to perform additional medium-term tasks from other locations. In order to ensure efficient production workflows, we combined and installed an infrastructure solution composed of OpenMedia Now from Annova alongside the media asset management solution Avamio and the scheduling system Avatega from arvato Systems. By integrating these applications with the joiz web content management system the company designed a central editorial cockpit which enables the joiz editors to easily share content such as clips, images, texts and metadata between systems and to transfer content for the rundown. An automation system from Aveco controls the playout of the various distribution channels.
